Nagpur: An 82-year-old German national flying in a state of coma on an air ambulance was admitted at a city hospital after the aircraft made an emergency landing here due to a technical snag. After three days at the KIMS-Kingsway Hospital he was again flown to
Frankfurt on Saturday.
The patient, who was still in coma while departing from the city, was alone throughout the journey from Bangkok. The second leg of travel from Nagpur was arranged through a global travel insurance company that had provided him the cover.
The German national, identified as Uwe Gustav Klasen, was being flown to Frankfurt after he suffered a cardiac arrest in Bangkok, and had to be rushed back to his country.
The plane landed at Nagpur on Thursday, and Klasen was admitted at the KIMS-Kingsway Hospital, which as a part of the tie-up with the airport, has its ambulance stationed for dealing with emergencies on board.
