Use cVIGIL app to ensure fair polls, says Dharwad DC

Dharwad: DC and district election officer Gurudattt Hegde has appealed to the citizens to make use of cVIGIL app launched by the Election Commission of India and cooperate in conducting elections in fair and transparent manner. He said different political parties try to lure voters by offering freebies and resort to unfair means. cVIGIL app is meant for preventing illegal practices and it can be operated using a mobile phone. People should inform the election commission any irregularity or illegal practices by the political parties using the cVIGIL app, Hegde said. They can download the app from google play and use to inform the election commission. The citizens are free to reveal their identity of not. Separate staff has been deployed at the special cells set up at the returning officer’s chamber. The staff will forward it to the concerned flying squad for further action. The squad will act upon the complaint within 100 minutes. MCC violations can be alerted by calling 1950. TNN
