Ludhiana Police seize 503 cartons illicit liquor in 2 cases

LUDHIANA: In two separate cases, the city police have recovered 503 cartons of illicit liquor from Sahnewal and division number 7 areas.
In the first case, Sahnewal police recovered a tempo containing 495 cartons illicit liquor from Ludhiana-Delhi National Highway. Inspector Inderjit Singh said the police had established a checkpost at the highway, following a tip-off. When the police team signalled the tempo driver to stop, he left the tempo there and fled away.
In the other case, anti narcotic cell-I of Ludhiana police commissionerate recovered eight cartons of illicit liquor from Manga of Tajpur Road, when he was selling liquor at a vacant plot in Guru Ram Das Nagar. Both were booked.
