How to manage waste? Noida plans workshops
Noida: The Authority will mark its 48th Foundation Day—April 17—with two-day celebrations at the Sector 21A Noida Stadium on April 16-17. The main attraction will be the Kachra Mahotsav event, which will educate people on waste management and the creative use of waste.
Officials said Kachra Mahotsav would constitute workshops and cultural events to change how people view waste and make residents, especially school kids, aware of proper waste management, disposal, reuse, recycling and related facilities.
The planned events include exhibitions, screening of films, classical and folk dances, music, book releases, seminars, award and toolkit distribution, khadi fashion shows, etc. There will also be a rock band show, Recycle and Reuse of Waste, and panel discussions with experts from IIT, NIT, etc., on the first day of the event.
Waste-to-wonder innovative sculptures will be placed in different locations and raise awareness about resources, which are non-renewable and valuable, but considered and treated as waste.
For visitors, there will be food stalls and a photo gallery showing Noida’s journey in waste management.
The Authority has also been organising sports events since April 14, with teams participating in a cricket tournament, shooting championship, athletics, golf championship, etc.
