Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ahead of an appearance before the Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday, alleged that the BJP had 'instructed' the central agency to arrest him.

"Since yesterday, all of their leaders are screaming at top of their voices that Kejriwal will be arrested and I think BJP has instructed CBI also that Kejriwal should be arrested. If BJP has given an order, then who is CBI? CBI is going to arrest me," the Chief Minister said.

In a video on Twitter, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said that the BJP is "very powerful and can send anyone to jail." Kejriwal added that he would truthfully and honestly answer questions posed by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise case.

"I have been summoned by CBI today and I will give all the answers with honesty. These people are very powerful. They can send anyone to jail, it does not matter if that person has committed any crime or not," Kejriwal said.

The AAP head honcho has been summoned by the central agency in connection with allegations that the Delhi excise policy enacted by his government in 2021-22 was corrupt. The policy has since been scrapped. Kejriwal's deputy Manish Sisodia was arrested in connection with the case in February and is being investigated by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate.

Kejriwal is set to be accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
