Man in custody after I-64 shooting at HRBT
A man turned himself in to Virginia State Police following a shooting on Interstate 64 at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel that left one person injured Saturday.
Mario Blackley, 41, was taken into custody about 5 p.m. Saturday following the shooting earlier that morning. Police said Blackley was known or related to the victim, who was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Blackley was charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police also issued an emergency custody order.
Blackley is being held at Hampton City Jail with no bond.
Eastbound lanes of I-64 were shut down for investigation near the Mallory Street exit, and all lanes of traffic were reopened by noon.
