NEW DELHI: Served the notice to vacate his official bungalow following his disqualification from Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has started shifting out his belongings.
Trucks have been moving out Rahul’s goods and luggage from his Tughlaq Road residence this week. Sources said Rahul is planning to shift to his mother Sonia Gandhi‘s residence at 10 Janpath.
Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from Lok Sabha after a Surat court convicted him in a defamation case and handed him a two years sentence. His appeal in Surat sessions court is pending in which a judgement is scheduled for April 20. The deadline for vacating the residence is April 22.
However, sources said, Rahul is not waiting for the final judicial verdict, and has begun the process of shifting out. “He has written to Lok Sabha that he will abide by the notice of vacation, and he will meet the deadline,“ sources said.
