In the historical drama Rudhramadevi, anushka shetty played the title role. Icon Star allu arjun had a significant role, and rana daggubati played a supporting role. Their presence aided in the film's successful big-screen debut. Overall, Rudhramadevi performed around average at the box office.

Gunasekhar announced Hiranyakasipa with rana following its release. But this film didn't do well at the box office. According to rumors, the producers decided to put it on hold since the film will require extensive production, which will take more time. Later, it was assumed that gunasekhar was no longer involved with the project.

Gunasekhar and samantha began Shaakuntalam in the interim. No telugu celebrity hero expressed interest in playing the character of king Dushyanta because the movie is geared toward women. gunasekhar acknowledged this and explained that he was forced to cast malayalam actor Dev Mohan because no telugu hero was interested in taking on the role. Additionally, he stated that no other telugu star hero can perform supporting roles in female-oriented scripts and that only allu arjun has the ability to give his approval to a supporting role.

Gunasekhar used this comment to show bunny how much he was admired and respected. Allu Arha's acting debut went off without a hitch thanks to Gunasekhar, and everyone who saw the film's special premiere believes that Arha will play a special role in the movie. If everything goes as planned, allu arjun might focus on gunasekhar if the director has a theme in mind.

Because it is still unclear what will happen to his film with rana, people are speculating if he intends to work with allu arjun on his upcoming project.
