Kalaburagi: Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Friday said whoever reads the 22 oaths of B R Ambedkar are sent to jail in this country.
Addressing a seminar held to mark the birth anniversary of Ambedkar here, Kumar said ministers and party functionaries garland the statues of Ambedkar, and also the government gives a
holiday to celebrate the day. “But ironically, one will be sent to jail if he or she reads the oaths in this country,” he said, and added: “The constitution has given certain rights to everyone.”
He also sought to know how businessmen Adani and Ambani became rich. “About 70% of the wealth of this country is in the hands of only a few people. Modi is taking it from our pockets and filling theirs with treasure. But when we question this, we are branded as anti-development,” he claimed.
“BJP practises dynasty politics, but opposes it in other political parties,” he said, and cited the example of CM Basavaraj Bommai. tnn
