LUCKNOW: In the highest spike in one-year-and-two-months, 200 Covid-19 cases were recorded in Lucknow on Friday, taking the number of active cases to 571. Among those found infected, three patients had to be admitted due to serious illness, while other patients are recuperating at home.
The city recorded sudden surge in Covid cases on Friday - from 67 to 200 just in aday. This was the highest single-day spike in 14 months, taking the active cases to 571.
Among new cases, three patients were hospitalised due to serious illnesses while other patients are recuperating at home. However, the relief was that 43 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours
Earlier 279 cases were reported on February 15, 2022.
In the past two weeks there has been a significant increase in Covid-19 positivity rate -- number of samples tested positive per 100. It has increased more than 4.5 times from 0.6 to 4.3.
According to KGMU officials, among those undergoing treatment, the condition of a patient with co-morbid conditions of hypertension and hyperthyroidism is critical, while the rest are stable.
