T'PURAM:
BJP state unit said that the Vande Bharat train that will be flagged off by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on April 25, is a Vishu gift.
Union minister V Muraleedharan and party state president K Surendran said Vande Bharat trains will give a fresh impetus to development in Kerala.
Surendran, who expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and railway minister on behalf of Kerala society for granting the semi-high speed train, claimed that Keralites will reject the initial reactions of Congress and CPM towards the allotment of Vande Bharat trains with due contempt.
"Left leaders, including the chief minister, had earlier said that Kerala will never get Vande Bharat trains. The same leaders now say that the trains are sanctioned for BJP's political gains. The CM must understand that BJP's politics is development," Surendran said.
Meanwhile, Muraleedharan said the central government was bringing development without evicting hundreds and thousands of people. "The difference between the development approach of Centre and the state is evident in Vande Bharat and SilverLine projects. The arrival of Vande Bharat once again underscores the impracticable nature of the SilverLine project," he said.
