BSL director in-charge is new SAIL chairman
Bokaro: The Public Enterprises Selection Board has selected Amarendu Prakash, the director in-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), as the new chairman of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
The selection process involved interviews with seven candidates, including director-in-charge of Bhilai Steel Plant Anirban Dasgupta, director-in-charge of Durgapur Steel Plant BP Singh, director commercial of SAIL VS Chakraborty, and executive director of SET (Ranchi) Jagdish Arora.
The appointment comes at a crucial time for SAIL, as the company has been facing several challenges like rising raw material costs and increased competition from private players. With his extensive experience in the steel industry and his proven track record at BSL, Prakash is expected to lead SAIL to a more prosperous future.
“SAIL employees are looking forward to work under Prakash and achieving new milestones under his guidance,” said A K Singh, the president of Bokaro Steel Officers’ Association. Prakash, who holds a B-Tech in Metrology from BIT-Sindri, joined BSL in July 1992 as a trainee. Over the years, he has worked in various departments. He was appointed the director-in-charge of BSL on 29 September 2020. TNN
