India's daily Covid situation in seven charts

Covid-19 cases are rising sharply in India after a gap of about a year though they’re well below the numbers in the previous three waves. Thursday's daily infection count was the highest in nearly eight months while the seven-day average of daily fatalities has been in double digits for almost 10 days. Experts have called for caution but say there is no reason for alarm as these periodic surges will continue.
