Illegal felling of trees: School headmaster among two booked in Nashik

NASHIK: A headmaster of a school is among the two people who have been booked by garden department of Nashik Municipal Corporation for illegal tree cutting.
Both the cases have been registered in Bhadrakali police station.
According to Bhadrakali police station officials, the acts were allegedly conducted by the accused in the month of December 2022 and January this year and the complaints were registered by the concerned authority on April 12.
Nashik Municipal Corporation garden department officer said both the accused were issued notices and asked to present their say but before the registration of case against them.
The headmaster of a school has been booked for the illegal cutting of a tree on December 27.
Regular process is that in case of felling of trees illegally, the garden department issues a notice to the concerned person, seeks reply, and after that if found responsible issues a penalty for the act. The non compliance to any of the above steps results in filing of a FIR with police station.
The department has also issued a notice to 40-year-old person for having four trees chopped off without the permission of the municipal corporation.
The act was allegedly committed on January 5 this year, the police said.
After completion of the regular process the garden department has registered the case against the accused on April 12.
