Don't know Sukesh Chandrasekhar, BJP plans to defame me & BRS: Kalvakuntla Kavitha

HYDERABAD: BRS MLC and chief minister's daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday accused the BJP of using an economic offender like Sukesh Chandrasekhar to defame her and the BRS government. Claiming that her WhatsApp chats released by jailed conman Sukesh were fake, Kavitha denied knowing Sukesh or meeting him.
"I am not familiar with Sukesh," Kavitha said in a statement. Sukesh is the main accused in the 200 crore money laundering case and currently lodged in Delhi's Mandoli jail.
Sukesh on Wednesday made public his alleged WhatsApp chats with Kavitha and jailed AAP leader, former minister Satyendar Kumar Jain. Kavitha faced three rounds of questioning by ED for her alleged role in the Delhi liquor scam.
She said a criminal and an economic offender like Sukesh released a nameless letter and BJP Dubbak MLA M Raghunanandan Rao immediately wrote a letter to the Election Commission of India based on it, seeking derecognition of BRS. "Nizamabad MP D Arvind, as part of BJP's tool kit, is also using it to defame me on social media," Kavitha bemoaned.
Raghunandan Rao on Wednesday alleged that Sukesh took Kavitha's name in his WhatsApp chats and 15 crore payment made in Telangana Bhavan, BRS party office in Hyderabad, and wanted ED to investigate the matter thoroughly.
She accused some of the media channels and journalists of not following ethics and implementing a certain political agenda. She reiterated, "I do not have any acquaintance with Sukesh. I do not know him. Without ascertaining facts, some media channels spread lies due to overenthusiasm. They did the same with regard to my cellphones some time ago and went back on it after the truth came out," she said.
Kavitha said the people of Telangana are wise and can comprehend the truth despite the conspiracy theories of some elements.
