A man accused of causing a wreck in Anderson Township that killed three people and injured a fourth is behind bars facing three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Friday that Andrew Blankenship is in the Hamilton County Justice Center and will be charged with those crimes plus unnamed additional ones.

The charges against Blankenship arise from the deaths of 66-year-old Richard Glasser, 38-year-old Keith Skaggs and 22-year-old Janaya Glover, who were killed on eastbound Interstate 275 near the Five Mile Road and New Richmond exits about 9:30 p.m. April 7.

The sheriff's office said earlier this week that Blankenship, 29, was driving a Dodge pickup truck at a high rate of speed on the interstate with no lights on when he lost control and struck an occupied tow truck in the right emergency lane.

The tow truck was forced into the disabled vehicle, the sheriff's office said, and the disabled vehicle struck and killed Skaggs, a tow truck driver who was outside his truck preparing to load the disabled vehicle.

Janaya Glover was also not in a vehicle when she was killed.

The sheriff's office has not said which vehicle Glasser, Janaya Glover or 25-year-old John Glover, who was injured in the wreck, arrived at the scene in.

Blankenship was also treated for injuries.
