MANGALURU: Dakshina Kannada Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) committee has decided to attract more voters through a display picture (DP) and WhatsApp status campaign prior to the assembly election.
The SVEEP committee has created two display pictures that will be shared among people in the district through the social media platforms.
SVEEP committee chairman and ZP CEO Kumar said that the campaign to increase voting percentage through DP and WhatsApp status is yet another creative initiative by the SVEEP committee of Dakshina Kannada district. “Checking DPs and status has now become a new normal and an accepted social habit, especially among youths.
We have now entered this
space to educate the citizens and youth in particular regarding the upcoming elections and also the importance of individual vote. Undoubtedly, this will have an impact on the minds of the smartphone users positively and motivate them to participate in the upcoming festival of democracy,” he said.
He also appealed voters and citizens to use the campaign pictures for their DP and WhatsApp status. Meanwhile, the Mangaluru city corporation (MCC) held a SVEEP programme at shopping malls - City Centre and Forum Mall on Thursday. Selfie corners to encourage youth were placed at these shopping malls.
