PATNA: Muslims around the city are gearing up to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar. With just around a week left for the festival, preparations have begun at Gandhi Maidan where the Eid namaz is organized every year for a large number of people.
On probable sighting of the moon on April 21, Eid would be celebrated on April 22. Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Rajeev Mishra issued instructions on cleanliness, parking, law and order, and medical facilities in Gandhi Maidan to office-bearers and members of the Namaz-e-Idhan Committee in a meeting held at the collectorate on Thursday.
“We are committed to providing every administrative facility to the Namazis. Smooth traffic management, excellent crowd control, and law and order maintenance will be ensured,” the DM said.
To facilitate easy entry and exit, worshippers coming on foot will take entry from gate numbers 4 and 12 of Gandhi Maidan, while those arriving by vehicles will use gate numbers 5, 7 and 10.
