Guwahati: Union minister of ports, shipping and waterways and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal joined the Rozgar Mela at Rang Bhawan in Maligaon here on Thursday, during which appointment letters were handed over to 207 successful candidates.
Centrally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in various government departments and organisations on Thursday via video-link. Addressing the appointees, Modi said, “Atmanirbhar Bharat is generating jobs in the urban and rural areas of the country. The toy industry has been enhanced, leading to the generation of new job opportunities,” he said. Forty-five places were connected to the mela during the PM’s address. Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said, “Today is a historic moment when we took another step forward towards empowering our youth in the cause of nation building under the dynamic leadership of PM Narendra Modi.”
As part of the initiative, the newly appointed candidates have joined central jobs in various posts and positions, including train manager, station master, senior commercial and ticket clerk, inspector, sub-inspectors, constable, stenographer, junior accountant, postal assistant,
income tax inspector and assistant professor. The newly inducted appointees will also be able to train themselves through Karmayogi and Prarambh, an online orientation course for all new appointees in various government departments..
