Santosh Rao is new CMD of Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited

AMARAVATI: Senior energy technocrat, K Santosh Rao has been appointed as chairman and managing director (CMD) of AP Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) headquartered in Tirupati. Santosh Rao had been serving as CMD of APEPDCL and holding the additional charge of SPDCL.
The state government recently appointed IAS officer Prithvitej Immadisetti as CMD of APEPDCL as part of IAS officers shuffling. State government on Friday issued a GO by appointing Santosh Rao as regular CMD Of APSPDCL, which covers eight Rayalaseema districts, Nellore and Prakasam.
In fact, he had been holding the additional charge of SPDCL CMD post for the past nine months since the retirement of then CMD H Haranath Rao.
As a regular CMD, he will be in office for next two years. He served as CMD of APEPDCL, which covers north-coastal districts, for nearly two years. Earlier, Rao worked in various capacities in SPDCL right from superintending engineer to chief engineer to director (technical) before getting elevated to the rank of CMD.
