The recently released videos of the Louisville, Kentucky, police response to the shooting at the Old National Bank showed brave officers who arrived quickly and subdued the killer (“Louisville shooter was set to be fired from bank he attacked,” Web. April 11). Sadly, two officers were shot, including a rookie, who was shot in the head.

One wonders whether those injuries could have been prevented or mitigated if a heavily armed SWAT team protected by body armor and helmets had been quickly dispatched, or if the officers carried helmets in their patrol cars to use in such situations.
