PATNA: District magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh on Thursday said the new building of Patna collectorate will be ready before June next year.
As per the agreement, the project is targeted to be completed in 25 months, which is set to end in June next year. However, the DM claimed that the new collectorate building will be ready before June, next year. “All efforts are being made for completing the project before the stipulated deadline,” he said. The foundation stone for the new collectorate building, being constructed at a cost of around Rs 186 crore, was laid down by chief minister Nitish Kumar on September 17, 2020.
Altogether 39 departments will operate in the main building. The collectorate will have five floors apart from the basement and ground floor. The cell of the district magistrate will be on the top floor. Apart from the central collectorate building, there will be two more blocks—sub divisional officer (SDO) and district development commissioner (DDC) block, and district board office and multipurpose building block on the premises.
Apart from offices of DM, SDO and DDC, the new building will also accommodate the offices of land registration, revenue, development, treasury, excise, deputy collectors and additional collectors, among others.
