CHENNAI: The
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday announced that it will hold its annual Vijayadasami march at 45 places across Tamil Nadu on April 16.
B Vanniyarajan, the president of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry units of the RSS, in a statement, said that the police department has accorded permission to hold a march across the state.
"DGP C Sylendra Babu granted permission to RSS to conduct route march in 45 places all over Tamil Nadu and requested the district cadres to approach the concerned district commissioners and superintendents of police and work out route and other formalities for conducting march on April 16," said Vanniyarajan.
The announcement comes after the Supreme Court cleared the deck for RSS march on April 12. According to the statement, RSS march will be held in Korattur in Chennai and in some communally sensitive places such as Coimbatore, Ramanathapuram, Ambur, Vellore, Palladam among others.
