Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence on April 13, leading to a major coming together of Opposition parties to take on the BJP in the General Elections 2024. JDU National President Lalan Singh also accompanied D Raja. While talking to the media, D Raja said, “Nitish Kumar is taking some initiatives to interact with all the secular democratic parties. The country is passing through a very critical period. The Constitution, Democracy, and secular fabric of our society are under attack. In such a situation, in the upcoming General Elections, there is a need and task of all the secular democratic parties to come together and fight unitedly in order to defeat the BJP to save the nation.” “Yesterday Nitish Kumar had meetings with Congress party leadership and also met Kejriwal. He met me today and he is going to meet CPM leaders also. CPI appreciates his efforts to build unity of secular democratic parties,” he added.
