When UP CM Yogi said 'Mafia ko mitti mein mila denge'

LUCKNOW: When Umesh Pal was killed, the UP assembly was in session and the opposition led by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned his claims about 'a robust law and order'.

An enraged Yogi Adityanath had then said that Atiq Ahmed was sheltered by the SP in the past and his govt would reduce the mafia to dust ('mafia ko mitti mein mil denge’).

CM Yogi said the Samajwadi Party had been nurturing the mafia and the main accused (jailed don Atiq Ahmed) in this case, too, had become an MP on an SP ticket.

The CM said that he was a mafia supported by the SP and has been punished for his criminal acts by the current government.
Then, directing his barb towards Akhilesh, the CM said: “You needed an excuse for your misdeeds. They (SP leaders) have been patronizing mafia and criminals continuously. Crime runs in their veins. They have not learnt anything except crime. The whole state knows this. And today, they have come to give clarification.”
“You will nurture all the criminals, garland them, and then blame others when a crime takes place. By doing this, you are just making a spectacle of yourself.”
