Amul-Nandini row: Farmers to hold state-wide protest rallies on April 15

Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene state unit president Badagalapura Nagendra on Wednesday said that farmers will hold state-wide protest rallies at all district headquarters on April 15 to protest against the sale of Amul brand milk products in the state.
Nagendra said that members of the KRRS will also appeal to people to buy state-owned Karnataka Milk Federation’s products, which is sold under the Nandini brand name.
Speaking to reporters, he condemned both the state and Union governments for the row and said that it will hit crores of farmers dependent on dairy farming across the state.
He accused the BJP government and RSS of trying to merge KMF with Amul and called it anti-farmers.
