19-year-old held, minor detained on murder charge in Pune

PUNE: The crime branch of Pune police on Tuesday arrested a 19-year-old youth and detained a minor boy on the charge of attacking a flower decorator with sharp weapons.
The incident took place outside a college on Vadgaon-Shinde road in Lohegaon on April 7 and the victim died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday.
Airport police's senior inspector V T Sonde on Wednesday said, "The 21-year-old flower decorator, Amitkumar Vishwakarma, from Koparali in Lohegaon had lodged a complaint against unidentified men for attacking him with sharp weapons from the hospital bed. The victim succumbed to injury while undergoing treatment on Tuesday following which a murder charge was invoked."
Senior inspector Ganesh Mane from crime branch (unit IV) on Wednesday said, "We have arrested a former electronics engineering student Shantun Chate from Alandi and detained a 16-year-old boy in the murder case on the basis of information given by the eyewitnesses. One more attacker identified during the duo's questioning will be soon arrested."
