Hubballi: “I am heading to Delhi after a call from
BJP national president JP Nadda,” said former CM Jagadish Shettar. Speaking to reporters here before leaving for Delhi on Wednesday, Shettar hoped that everything will be fine in the interest of the party. “Actually, we were supposed to meet Yediyurappa. As the flight was delayed, we are leaving for Delhi directly, and we will meet him after returning from Delhi,” he added.
“I don’t have any black spot in my political career. I have worked as an ordinary MLA for the last two years without expecting any status. The ticket has been denied without any proper reason. I hope the issue will be resolved after discussing with Nadda. I have not received phone calls from any leader except Nadda,” he said.
When asked about retirement from politics, he said there should be respect even for retirement. “We are ready for it if it is done in a respectful way. One should not go out in this way,” he said. tnn
