Southeast Texas temperatures are expected to stay pretty stagnant throughout the weekend regardless of storm chances.

According to Lake Charles National Weather Service Meteorologist Nick Flaughter, chances for thunderstorms in Southeast Texas this weekend is 50-50.

"Friday night we're going to start seeing increasing clouds and then Saturday through Sunday, it's going to be some showers and thunderstorms across the region," Flaughter said. "Then after Sunday, we're looking at kind of clear blue skies."

Flaughter said the region is looking at about a 50% chance of rain throughout the area on Saturday and Sunday, so there could be "a good number of showers across the region." There is also a chance of "gusty winds" throughout the day Saturday.

A National Weather Service forecast set a 40% chance of thunderstorms Saturday and a 30% chance of showers and then sunny weather on Sunday.

"We're pretty much looking at a bit of a front moving through and it's going to bring us a little bit of showers this weekend, especially for the Beaumont area," Flaughter said. "So, really just showers on Saturday and Sunday, but it'll be pretty quick moving so once they're out of the area, we'll get back to clear skies behind the front."

Flaughter said there will really not be much of a temperature difference, and the weather should stay warm.

Temperatures for the weekend include a high of 82 and a low of 71 on Friday, a high of 87 and low of 61 Saturday and a high of 78 and low of 52 Sunday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
