5 straight days of Covid deaths in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: For the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday, the city recorded the death of a Covid patient. A 76-year-old woman from Vejalpur died of Covid infection at SVP Hospital.
She was fully vaccinated, said civic body officials. The last time the city recorded Covid deaths for five consecutive days was in February 2022.

In the past 20 days, Gujarat recorded deaths of 15 Covid patients, out of which eight were from Ahmedabad.
For the city, the mortality ratio for the past five days is one death per 107 Covid cases.
Across Gujarat, 397 cases were recorded, the highest in 14 days. Besides Ahmedabad, Mehsana too recorded a Covid death.
Ahmedabad city registered 137 new cases, followed by 46 in Mehsana, 27 in Vadodara city, 26 in Surat city, 20 in Valsad, and 16 each in Morbi and Sabarkantha districts.
With the discharge of 350 patients, the active cases reached 1992. Four patients were on ventilators.
