Blinkit services were affected in Delhi-NCR after the grocery delivery app's delivery partners went on strike in protest of the revised pay structure. Blinkit has revised the incentive framework by lowering executive delivery rates.
Protests were held in Gurugram, Faridabad, and other districts of Delhi-NCR. Delivery partners later approached the District Commissioner of Gurugram. After workers addressed officials on Wednesday, the Haryana Labour Department issued a notice to Blinkit.
The All India Gig Workers’ Union, extending its supports to the impacted workers, said that that the unlawful policies of the company are in direct violation of the Shops and Establishments Act.
