
The anti-narcotics cell of the Pune city police has arrested a man possessing lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) paper, a potent psychedelic drug. The police identified the accused as Shubham Kailas Bhorkade, 26, a resident of Wadgaon Sheri.
Acting on a tip-off to police havaldar Shivaji Ghule, an anti-narcotics team led by inspector Sunil Thopte laid a trap and nabbed Bhorkade in the Wadgaon Sheri area on Monday night.
During searches, the police recovered LSD paper estimated at Rs 30,000 from him. They also seized a cell phone and a two-wheeler from the accused.
The police lodged a first information report (FIR) against him at the Yerwada police station under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The police said he wanted to sell the LSD paper to some customers in Pune city. They added a probe was on to know from where he procured the banned drug.
