Tension after stone pelting on bike rally

SAMBALPUR: At least 10 police personnel and a number of locals were injured in stone pelting between two groups at Motijharan, under Dhanupali police station area during a bike rally on Wednesday evening ahead of Friday's Hanuman Jayanti.
Hanuman Jayanti is scheduled on Friday. The bike rally, which started from the Dhanupali area, was supposed to move around the city.
"The bike rally was going towards Dhankauda when stones were pelted at it. Following this, the participants also started pelting stones," said a police officer. The police dispersed the crowd from the spot. "The situation is under control now. Adequate police personnel have been deployed in that area," said additional superintendent of police, Tapan Mohanty.
Meanwhile, the district administration has imposed Section 144 of the CrPc in the entire area of Town police station.
