Rajasthan woman fights off crocodile

Armed with nothing but a stick, a braveheart woman in Rajasthan battled a crocodile to save her husband’s life after the reptile had jumped out of the water and grabbed his leg between its jaws.

According to reports, Vimal Bai and her husband Banne Singh, a cattle herder, were out tending cattle on Tuesday. Banne took the goats to the nearby Chambal River as they were thirsty and decided to take a dip in the water to beat the heat when suddenly a large crocodile jumped out from behind and grabbed a hold his leg between its powerful jaws.

Banne’s wife Vimal Bai, who was doing some other chores nearby, witnessed this and without a second thought flung into action, attacking the crocodile with a wooden stick she was holding.

However, the persistent reptile did not relent and would not let go of his prey and kept coming back to drag Banne into the water where it could devour him. Vimal Bai too didn’t give up and hit the crocodile in its eyes forcing the reptilian predator to retreat while the husband and wife fled to safety.

Banne Singh, who sustained injuries to his leg in the reptile attack, was admitted to Mandrail Hospital for treatment where the doctors later referred him to another hospital in Karauli.

Narrating the ordeal, Singh said the crocodile had caught a hold of his leg between its jaws and was dragging him into the deep water. He said that in a bid to escape, he tried using all his strength and even grabbed the crocodile by its waist but the beast was too powerful.

Singh told newsmen at the hospital that his wife charged at the reptile with a stick and witnessing this, others too joined in and repelled the beast.

Vimal Bai told reporters that she didn’t even think about her life when she saw her husband in mortal danger.

Models are expected to keep a poker face on the ramps and during shoots but this campaign did not sit well with the social media users. Some users were confused about the unhappy expression on the model’s face whereas some went on to troll and laugh about it.

A man commented that the model doesn’t really like wearing Sabyasachi, whereas another woman laughed at it by writing, when you don’t want to get married to the boy but still agree because you get to wear Sabyasachi’s wedding outfit.

A user went ahead to take a dig at the prices of the outfits.

Whereas one user had a different thought and praised the designer house for their marketing skills. She wrote that Sabyasachi gets it every time. One shoot and one post, free advertisement and circulation for days and guess what, whoever has the money to buy it, wants to wear a Sabyasachi for their special days irrespective of how the models look. Win-Win to the bank.

One user also took it upon himself to fix the pictures by making the models smile, and the results are hilarious.

Man beaten to death

A horrifying video has come to fore from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, where a transport manager was tortured, electrocuted and mercilessly beaten to death after being accused of theft by his employer.

According to reports, the body was Shivam Johri alias Anshul, 32, was found dumped outside a government hospital after he was viciously beaten, tortured and electrocuted on his boss’s order who suspected him of theft.

A viral video of the vicious beating shows Shivam tied to a pole, in what appears to be a warehouse of some kind, as a man rains downs blow after blow on him with an iron rod as the victim writhes in pain and begs for mercy.

As per the police, Shivam was working as manager for Bankim Suri, a transport businessman, for the past seven years and recently when a package of a prominent business, Kanhaiya Hosiery, went missing, Suri suspected many of his employees of the theft and allegedly beat them up to make them confess to stealing the goods.

A report quoting another employee of the transporter who was beaten along with Shivam, claimed that they were kept in a water pool and electrocuted to accept the guilt.

On Tuesday night, Shivam’s body was found dumped outside a government-run hospital and family members told the police that he had been electrocuted to death. However, on examining the body, a police official said the injuries on the victim’s body were not consistent with death by electrocution.

A senior police official said that a case of murder and abduction has been registered against seven accused, including the transporter and Kanhaiya Hosiery owner Neeraj Gupta.

He said that a car suspected to be linked to the crime has been seized by the police from the premises of Kanhiya Hosiery and the deceased victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death, adding that further investigation is underway and more details are awaited.
