CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation on Thursday asked owners to remove their vehicles abandoned on roadsides. If they don't remove them in 15 days, the vehicles would be removed by the corporation and the city police. They would be auctioned.
The civic body said it had planned to hold rigorous drives to remove the vehicles as it had received numerous complaints from residents who said the vehicles were encroaching on the roads.
The corporation said it also could not clean the roads daily because of these abandoned vehicles. They end up as breeding spots for rodents.
