Aides of Solanki sent to jail for landgrabbing
Kanpur: Police arrested two aides of Samajwadi party MLA Irfan Solanki and sent them to jail on Wednesday on charges of land grabbing in Jajmau area of the city.
Station in-charge Rambabu Singh said Mohammed Naseem Arif, resident of Kanghi Mohal of Beconganj had alleged in his complaint that he owed a 500-square-meter plot in Jajmau. “200 yards of Arif’s plot were grabbed by SP MLA Irfan Solanki, his brother Rizwan Solanki, Mohammad Asif and Shabbar Hussain. When Arif protested, Rizwan assaulted and threatened him with dire consequences, pointing a pistol at him. Arif lodged a complaint with the local police station,” said police. Irfan and his brother Rizwan are already in jail for Jajmau arson and other cases.
“Shabbar Hussain, resident of Defence Colony and Mohammad Asif, resident of Wajidpur Jajmau, who were absconding, have been arrested and were sent to jail on Wednesday,” officer added. tnn
