Noida: Over 40 teachers were found absent and 3 schools were found closed during an inspection held across 36 council schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Wednesday. As per officials, the inspection was carried out to scrutinise the condition of school infrastructures and learning outcomes.
“The District Task Force (DTF) carried out the inspection in four blocks - Bisrakh, Dadri, Dankaur, and Jewar in which 15 assistant teachers, 22 shiksha mitras and 1 instructor were absent,” said Aishwariya Lakshmi, Basic Shiksha Adhikary (BSA) of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Students were also found waiting for teachers, who were late to class. The education department is likely to take action against the teachers who were found missing during school hours.
"The teachers and schools will be sent notices to meet the BSA and provide show cause," said Lakshmi. Officials say more such inspections will be conducted in the future.
The schools that were closed include Primary School Nilawni, Primary School Chapargarh and Primary School Khodna. Schools where teachers were absent included Composite School Rupbas, Primary schools of Khedi 1, Kayampur, Atai Muradpur, Shahpur, Rustampur, among others
Meanwhile, several Sankul Prabhari (in-charge of school clusters) of Dankaur block have given collective resignation to the Block Education Officer, on Tuesday, in protest against policies of the Block Education Council. They claimed to have been overworked by the authorities.
"We have created a committee to solve the matter,” said Lakshmi.
