Jamshedpur: Jharkhand
BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash and Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato were not allowed to enter the Gaghidih central jail on Wednesday when they went there to meet state party secretary Abhay Singh who is in jail since April 10 in connection with the Shastrinagar communal violence.
"The meeting time with the jail inmates was till noon but the MPs came at 3 pm, so they were not allowed inside. There was no other reason," said jail superintendent, Narendra Singh.
Upset with the action of the jail administration, Prakash said that the district administration has become dictator.
Further, the two parliamentarians said that the administration should not be biased in taking action against the persons in the Shastrinagar violence case.
Former MP and former party president, Ravindra Rai, who visited Abhay's house in Kashidih earlier in the day to meet his family, said that the party will stand like a rock behind them in this crucial time.
The veteran BJP leader also said that the local administration should desist from taking decisions in haste.
"Jamshedpur is a very sensitive city, it has a history of communal violence. The administration should not come under the influence of those who are taking administrative decisions. One wrong decision can take the city into a wrong direction," Rai said.
