Literary award winners’ list out

Belagavi: The Belagavi district Sahitya Pratishtana has announced the names of those to be conferred the Sirigannada Gourava awards of 2022, and Sirigannada Pustaka awards of 2021, for their books published in 2020. Meanwhile, winners of the lifetime achievement and different endowment awards have also been announced. Prof Rajshekhar Karadiguddi and Dr Madhav Dixit have been chosen for the Sirigannada Gourava award. Irayya Killedar, for his book which comprises a collection of articles ‘Uriya Peteyalli’ and Chandrashekhar Pujar, for his collection of ghazals ‘Belaka Nicchanike,’ have been chosen for the Sirigannada Pustaka award.
For lifetime achievement endowment awards, the names of CK Navalagi, Sheela Ankola, Shailaja Binge and Balesh Veerappa Chinagudi were announced. Rajaguru Sansthanmath Prakashan, Kitturu, a noted publishing house in the district, and Mukund Gore, who runs a music academy, have also been chosen for the endowment award.
The following names have been chosen for the Sirigannada Pustaka Awards—Basavaraj Jagajampi for his book ‘Europe Sanskritika Sourabha’, BS Jagapur for ‘Jana Balaka’, JP Dodmani for ‘Savitribai Phule, the first lady teacher of India’, Basavanneppa Kambar for ‘Aarane Belaku’, Basu Bevinagidada for ‘Belaka Torana’, Shobha Nayak for ‘Shayyagarada Suddigalu’, Ranjana Naik for her play ‘Eppatondu Neralu Belakinata’, Ashok Malagali for ‘Noorondu Chutuku Chataki’ and RB Chilumi for ‘Badukina Ananyatage Dari Deepagalu’. Niraja Ganachari, pratishtana secretary, issued a release in this regard. The awards will be conferred, and the date for the same will be announced soon.
