Indowind Energy(down 4.92%), Energy Development Company(down 3.33%), Reliance Power(down 3.19%), CESC(down 2.36%), Inox wind(down 2.29%), Torrent Power(down 1.76%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.75%), Voltamp Transformers(down 1.73%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.64%) and RTNPOWER(down 1.49%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 90.1 points up at 17812.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 235.05 points at 60392.77.
Divis Laboratories(up 9.73%), Bajaj Auto(up 2.6%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.47%), Adani Enterprises(up 2.45%), Eicher Motors(up 2.43%), Coal India(up 1.81%), Infosys(up 1.58%), Tata Motors(up 1.48%), HDFC Bank(up 1.3%) and SBI Life(up 1.28%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.75%), NTPC(down 1.29%), Nestle India(down 1.19%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.88%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.76%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.74%), State Bank of India(down 0.73%), ITC(down 0.62%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.56%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.53%) closed in the red.
