Goldie sports hub swimming meet on April 15, 16

Kanpur: First Goldie sports hub swimming meet will be organized by Kanpur Smart City Limited at the Sports Hub (TCH) on April 15 and April 16. During the two-day aquatic meet as many as 72 events for various age groups, including men and women will be held in which around 500 swimmers are expected to take part.
According to PK Srivastava, director operations of TCH apart from 72 events, 4 x 25 metre relay and medley events for the under-19 and above 19 years age group will also be held. This is the first occasion when any aquatic meet will be held under a covered pool. A live telecast of all events on a big LED screen will be a great attraction.
Addressing the media persons, Srivastava said that there would be free entry for the economically weak swimmers. The top three swimmers in each group would be picked for one-year free training to prepare them for the state and national level swimming meet. Speaker of UP Assembly Satish Mahana will inaugurate the meet while Navneet Sehgal will be the special guest of the meet. Raj Shekhar, commissioner, Kanpur division and chairman of Kanpur Smart City Limited will give away prizes to the winners. BD Nanavati, president of Swimming Federation of India will be the special guest of the function.
