Panaji: The Indian Coast Guard commander for the Western seaboard, additional director general K R Suresh, inspected Goa’s Coast Guard stations during a two-day visit recently.
The visit was part of the ongoing efforts to ensure that the Indian Coast Guard is prepared to and capable of carrying out missions to protect the nation’s maritime interests.
During the visit, Suresh held discussions with senior officers and reviewed the various operations and activities being carried out by the force in Goa. The discussions during the briefing were centered on improving the operational readiness of the Coast Guard and enhancing its capabilities to respond to any emergencies and security threats in the area of responsibility.
Suresh also took the opportunity to meet with the Coast Guard personnel and exhorted them to ensure the safety and security of the nation’s maritime boundaries.
The additional director general took stock of the infrastructure being developed by the Indian Coast Guard in Goa.
