Parse not cooperating, say police
Nagpur: The Ambazari police on Monday informed the Nagpur bench of Bombay high court that social media influencer Ajit Parse was not cooperating in the investigations regarding allegations of cheating and forgery against him. While adjourning the hearing till April 18, Justice Anil Pansare granted time to Parse’s counsel to take instructions.
Parse was arrested on complaints filed by Dr Rajesh Murkute and others. He had promised Murkute to help him seek permission for opening a medical college using his contacts in the government and took Rs 4.36 crore from him in instalments.
Additional public prosecutor Sanjay Doifode informed the court that a notice under Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, was issued to Parse and he appeared before the investigating officer but did not cooperate.
Dist court to decide murder accused’s fate on Friday
The district and additional sessions judge RS Pawaskar will decide the quantum of punishment of five murder accused Vivek Palatkar on April 14.
On Tuesday, the court had heard the discussions on the mitigating and aggravating circumstances as per the Supreme Court guidelines.
Palatkar’s counsel submitted an affidavit of his mother stating she was dependent on her son. tnn
