AISF jawan held for ‘shooting dead’ colleague in Tinsukia dist

Dibrugarh: An Assam Industrial Security Force (AISF) jawan allegedly shot dead his colleague with his service rifle following an argument at Digboi in Tinsukia district on Tuesday morning. Accused Udesh Majhi has been arrested.
The incident took place inside the AISF camp on Muliabari Road in Digboi. The deceased has been identified as Bimal Orang, also a AISF jawan.
Police immediately rushed to the spot and arrested Majhi and registered a case against him.
“The two AISF personnel got into an argument over some matter, which took an ugly turn. Majhi shot Orang with his service rifle and he died on the spot,” a police official said.
Police are yet to ascertain the cause that triggered the murder.
