SWR punctuality stands at 93.12%
Hubballi: In 2022-23, South Western Railway (SWR) has taken a number of steps to provide good services heeding the demand of passengers, while also keeping up punctuality. In a press release, SWR has claimed its punctuality (93.12%) stands third among all the railway zones of Indian Railways. The punctuality, it said, is impressive considering the high number of infrastructure upgradation works like doubling, new line, electrification, etc. “During 2022-23, as many as 116 trains were speeded up, saving cumulative 2,816 minutes. To avoid pollution and save diesel, 24 trains have been shifted to electric traction. To cater to the demands of passengers during holiday and festival seasons, 291 special trains were run and 3,028 trips were made to various destinations. As many as 253 coaches have been augmented on a permanent basis and 224 coaches on a temporary basis to help passengers,” the release added. “In 2022-23, SWR carried 150.34 million passengers, earning a revenue of Rs 2,755.35 crore. This is an all-time highest passenger revenue in the history of SWR,” the release added.

It will start from Arjun Vihara Cross on Gokul Road and will culminate at the Basava Samskruthi School via Lohia Nagar and Morarji Nagar,” he added.
