JAIPUR: Chief minister
Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday released a video portraying his vision to make Rajasthan the No. 1 state by 2030.
Gehlot announced the ambitious plan for the state at a time when former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot was sitting on a one-day fast against the Congress government. The move is considered as the Gehlot's attempt to divert public attention away from his rival as well as convey that he would remain the party's CM face in the upcoming assembly elections.
"I have decided that I have to make Rajasthan the top state by 2030. To realise this dream, I have brought schemes in the last four budgets and in this year's 'Bachat, Rahat and Badhat' Budget that no other state has," the chief minister said in Hindi in the video.
In his video, Gehlot mentioned about various schemes of his government, including the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, subsidised LPG cylinders and accident insurance of Rs 10 lakh among others.
Comparing Rajasthan health schemes with other states, Gehlot said, "I have made schemes which no other state has. In other states, people are not provided with free Rs 10 lakh insurance scheme, and we are giving Rs 25 lakh insurance and providing cylinder for only Rs 500. They are not even thinking in this direction. It is only in Rajasthan where Rs 10 lakh accident insurance is given without any premium. Also, many historical decisions have been taken which will provide relief to the people."
The chief minister said Rajasthan is not able to progress due to the rising inflation and the schemes of the state government are aimed at providing relief to the people. He said a lot of work has to be done to make 'Mission 2030' successful.
He said, at the time of Covid, many families faced financial setback after private hospitals charged hefty amount. "I have decided that time that people of Rajasthan will not have to pay large amount for treatment."
