Kota: Bodies of a 23-year-old woman and her 3-year-old son were recovered from a well in her in-laws’ agriculture field in Bajrangpura village under Raipur police station of Jhalawar on Tuesday morning.
On a report by deceased woman’s parents, police lodged a case of harassment and murder against her husband and began investigation.
The deceased woman was identified as Rekha Kumari, wife of Ramvilas Dangi, a resident of Bajrangpura village under Raipur police station of Jhalawar and her 3-year-old son Kartik.
"According to the woman's in-laws, the couple along with their minor son was believed to be away from the house for past few days as nobody noticed their movement in the village or in the house," Bhupendra Sharma, SHO, Raipur police station said. The in-laws noticed the bodies of the woman and of her son tied to her waist floating in the well of their agriculture field on Tuesday morning.
They informed the police that rushed to the spot and recovered the two bodies from the well, he added.
"On the report by parents of deceased woman, police lodged a case of harassment and murder under sections 498 (A), 302 and 304 (B) of IPC against husband Ramvilas Dangi, who was still missing from the house," he said.
"The bodies were handed over to the woman’s parents after postmortem by medical board," he further said.
Only after receipt of the postmortem report, exact time of death could be ascertained, the SHO said.
