Rajasthan increases Covid tests, 26 districts have active cases

JAIPUR: A day after the medical education and health department jointly reviewed the Covid situation in the state, the number of samples sent for testing has been increased.
On Tuesday, 6,109 samples were collected and sent for testing across the state.
In 24 hours, 190 persons tested positive for the virus. No death has been reported.
Active cases have been increasing at a rapid pace. Apart from seven districts, the rest 26 have active cases currently. In Jaipur, active cases have increased from 37 to 277 in 11 days.
Currently, Rajsamand has 83 active cases, Udaipur (77), Jodhpur (76), Bikaner (71), Jhalawar (58) and Ajmer has 56 active cases, while rest of the districts have less than 50 active cases individually.
In 24 hours, Jaipur reported 53 cases, Bikaner (15), Ajmer (14), Udaipur (13) and Chittorgarh (12).
A health department official said they have increased sampling in the state. In Jaipur, 1,028 samples were collected for testing.
The health department has issued directions to conduct sampling of suspected cases coming to hospitals with influenza-like symptoms. Besides, 31 persons recovered from Covid- in 24 hours. Since the daily Covid cases are on the rise, the health department is now making its control room functional for Covid prevention and management at district level.
