Homeopaths get a pat on their backs
Nagpur: Homeopaths, teachers and budding PG students celebrated World Homeopathy Day on April 10 at a function organized by Orange City Homeopaths’ Association (OCHA).
While young doctors were praised for their hard work during the Covid pandemic, seniors claimed that homeopathy has the most apt solutions for many post-pandemic health issues.
Veteran homeopathy gynaecologist Dr Sageera Chimthanwala said that homeopathic treatment can ensure normal delivery. “Normal delivery has become a rare thing these days. But I have done several normal deliveries with the help of homeopathic treatment,” she said.
She appealed to new doctors and PG students to specialize in one of the subjects and work on it.
Dr Smita Adkine presented a curious case of ‘China’ as a patient during her informative and interesting talk. “Following the principles of homeopathy, I presented a case of China as a person. While I discussed good and bad mental and psychological issues with China, our students suggested medicines in homeopathy,” she said.
Dr Manish Patil, president of OCHA, called for integration of homeopathy with modern medicine. “If allowed, integration of homeopathy with allopathy can work wonders in emergent conditions. It would be beneficial for the society and patients,” he said.
Former Nagpur district collector Ravindra Thakre also joined the celebrations. “Doctors from all schools of medicines rendered their services during the Covid crisis and homeopaths also joined them. I must appreciate their services during testing times,” he said.
Homeopaths who rendered excellent service during Covid were feted by Thakre. BHMS students who scored the highest marks in the MUHS exams were also honoured. In the end, doctors cut a birthday cake for their master Dr Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy.
