Missing El Paso woman found slain in Red Sands desert, murder investigation continues
A body found in the Red Sands desert has been identified as an El Paso woman who went missing two weeks ago, police officials said Tuesday evening.
Detectives are investigating the death of 32-year-old Michelle Angela Morales-Nakaza as a murder after she was last seen on the evening of March 27 at the Baskin-Robbins at 12379 Edgemere Blvd., across the street from El Dorado High School, police said.
Morales-Nakaza, who does not drive a car, was possibly picked up by a man driving a white 2005-2010 Toyota Camry, police had said.
A missing persons report had been filed on March 31 and a bulletin asking for the public's help in finding Morales-Nakaza was issued last weekend.
On Monday, homicide detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit were in the Red Sands desert area after the body was found off Snoqualmie Drive. A cause of death has not been disclosed. The investigation continues.
